The academic year is typically divided into fall and spring semesters. Each semester consists of a set number of weeks of instruction, along with designated breaks, holidays, and exam periods.

1. Fall 2023 Registration Opens by Appointment Only from April 17, 2023.
2. The deadline to readmit to Brooklyn College for Fall 2023 Semester is August 16, 2023.
3. The last day to file an ePermit request is August 24, 2023.
4. The last day to drop for a 100% tuition refund is August 24, 2023.
5. Brooklyn College Fall 2023 classes start on August 25, 2023. It is the first day of classes for fall 2023.
6. Financial Aid Certification, Enrollment Status Date, is August 31, 2023.
7. The last day to add a course is August 31, 2023.
8. The last day to drop for a 75% tuition refund is August 31, 2023.
9. September 2023 Conferral Date is September 1, 2023.
10. The grade of WD is assigned to students who officially drop a course is September 1, 2023.
11. Labor Day holiday is Monday, September 4, 2023. There are no classes.
12. The last day to submit a Pass/Fail elective application online for Fall 2023 is September 5, 2023.
13. The last day to drop for a 50% tuition refund is September 7, 2023.
14. The last day for students to submit requests for change, deletion of, or declaration of a major/minor/concentration to be effective for Fall 2023 is September 10, 2023.
15. The last day for departments to approve requests for change, deletion of, or declaration of a major/minor/concentration to be effective for Fall 2023 is September 13, 2023.
16. The last day to drop a course with a “WD” grade is September 14, 2023.
17. The last day to drop for a 25% tuition refund is September 14, 2023.
18. Verification of Enrollment Rosters (VOE) is Due from faculty on September 14, 2023.
19. September 14, 2023, is the Census date – Form-A.
20. 100% Tuition obligation for course drops on September 15, 2023.
21. WN Grades are assigned on September 15, 2023.
22. The last day to file for Fall 2023/December 31, 2023, and Winter 2024/February 1, 2024 graduation is September 15, 2023.
23. A grade of W is assigned to students who officially withdraw from a course on September 15, 2023.
24. No classes are scheduled from September 15, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
25. There are no classes scheduled on September 25, 2023.
26. WA Grades Assigned – Immunization non-compliance on September 25, 2023.
27. The deadline to apply for and Comprehensive Exam is September 29, 2023.
28. The deadline to Submit Thesis Title through Thesis Submission Online is September 29, 2023.
29. Brooklyn College is closed on October 9, 2023.
30. On conversion day, classes follow the Monday schedule on October 10, 2023
31. Declaration of Major queue reopens on November 1, 2023; majors/minors/concentrations declared starting this date will be effective for Spring 2024.
32. 60% Date for the term is November 3, 2023.
33. Brooklyn College Thanksgiving break 2023 is from Wednesday, November 22, 2023, to Sunday, November 26, 2023. Classes resume on Monday, November 27, 2023.

35. The deadline to Upload the Thesis through Thesis Submission Online is December 1, 2023.
