Gatech Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates

Georgia Tech Academic Calendar or in short, Gatech academic calendar 2023-2024 consists of a Fall Semester, a Spring Semester, and an accelerated Summer Session.

Each Fall Semester and each Spring Semester typically include approximately fifteen weeks of instruction plus one week of final examinations. A standard Summer Session includes approximately eleven weeks of instruction plus one week of final examinations.

Each Academic Year consists of one sequence of a Fall Semester followed by a Spring Semester. The word “term” may refer to a Fall Semester, a Spring Semester, or a Summer Session.

Gatech academic calendar fall 2023

These are the important dates and deadlines on the Gatech academic calendar for Fall semester 2023.

1. The deadline to request a Leave of Absence for Fall 2023 is Saturday, July 1, 2023.
2. The application deadline for readmission for Fall 2023 is also on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
3. The last day to apply for Cross Registration for Fall Semester 2023 is Saturday, July 15, 2023.
4. Requests for Out-of-State Tuition Classification Waivers for Fall 2023 will be accepted until Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
5. Time tickets for Phase II registration for Fall 2023 will be posted by 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, August 11, 2023.
6. Phase II Registration for All Students, including the Tuition Assistance Program Registration for Fall 2023, will take place from Monday, August 14, 2023, to Friday, August 25, 2023.

15. The Grade Substitution Deadline for Fall 2023 is on Saturday, October 28, 2023, with forms accepted through Monday, October 30, 2023, by 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
16. The Grade Mode Deadline for Fall 2023, allowing changes from Letter/Grade to Pass/Fail, or vice versa, is on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
17. The Withdrawal Deadline for Fall Semester 2023, to receive W grades, is also on Saturday, October 28, 2023, by 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
18. Georgia Tech will observe a Student Recess from Wednesday, November 22, 2023, to Friday, November 24, 2023, during which there will be no classes but the campus will remain open.
19. The campus will be closed for Gatech Thanksgiving Break 2023 from Thursday, November 23, 2023, to Friday, November 24, 2023.

25. The End of Term for Fall 2023 is on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
26. Fall 2023 Commencement ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, December 15, 2023, and Saturday, December 16, 2023.
27. All grades for Fall 2023 must be submitted online by noon Eastern Time on Monday, December 18, 2023.
28. The Grades for Fall 2023 will be available online for students after 6:00 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
29. The Degree Confirmation Date for Fall 2023 candidates is on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Diplomas will be delivered within 8 weeks.

These are the important dates and deadlines on the Gatech academic calendar for the Spring semester of 2024.

1. The online application for graduation for undergraduate students begins on Monday, September 4, 2023, and lasts until Friday, January 5, 2024.
2. Graduate students can apply for graduation online from Tuesday, September 5, 2023, until Thursday, January 11, 2024.
3. The deadline for the readmission application for students with a drop or review academic standing is on Monday, October 2, 2023, for the spring semester.
4. The schedule of classes for the Spring 2024 semester will be available online on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
5. Time tickets for Phase I registration will be issued on Thursday, November 2, 2023, with Phase I registration running from Monday, November 6, 2023, to Friday, December 15, 2023.
6. The deadline for cross-registration applications is on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, for the Spring 2024 semester.
