University of California-Riverside (UCR) is on a quarter system which is typically 10 weeks long. They consist of 4 terms: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.

To be considered a full-time student at UCR, you must enroll in at least 12 units per quarter. However, undergraduate students must average 15 units per quarter in order to graduate in four years.

MBA students are considered full-time at 16 units. Students in the online masters in the engineering program are considered full-time at 9 units.

Below are important dates, schedules, holidays, and deadlines on the UCR academic calendar 2023-2024 for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.

UCR academic calendar fall 2023

Below are other important dates and deadlines on the UCR academic calendar for Fall Quarter 2023.

1. UCR’s Schedule of Classes for Fall 2023 is online from May 11, 2023.
2. Enrollment appointments are viewable on R’Web from May 16, 2023.
3. All continuing students’ registration is from May 22, 2023, to June 13, 2023.
4. The last day for UNDERGRADUATES to apply for readmission is June 26, 2023.
5. Makeup enrollment and add/drop is from June 14, 2023, to June 30, 2023, for Continuing Students, and September 7, 2023, to October 13, 2023, for all UCR Students.
6. Statement of Account (shows fees, tuition, and projected student aid) for enrolled students only; is available in UCR R’Web in mid-August 2023.
7. The last day to mail payment for tuition/fees to allow for processing time is September 1, 2023. Postmarks not considered.
8. Labor Day holiday is September 5, 2023. There are no classes.
9. Undergraduate 17 unit maximum load is lifted from September 11, 2023 (2nd pass opens at 9:00 a.m.).
10. The fee payment deadline for UNDERGRADUATE students is September 15, 2023.
11. The grace period ends for UNDERGRADUATE students to pay outstanding fees on September 22, 2023. According to the UCR academic calendar 2023-2024, if you do not pay your fees, you may be assessed a $45 Administrative Tuition Processing Fee and may be removed from your courses.
12. UCR fall 2023 semester starts on September 25, 2023, according to the UCR academic calendar 2023-2024.
13. The fee payment deadline for GRADUATE and MEDICAL students is September 28, 2023.
14. UCR Fall 2023 classes start on September 28, 2023. It is the first day of classes for the fall semester.
15. The grace period ends for GRADUATE and MEDICAL students to pay outstanding fees on October 5, 2023.
16. The last day to add/drop courses in R’Web (no fee) without a “W” appearing on your transcript is October 13, 2023. It is also the last day for UNDERGRADUATES to get dean approval to enroll in 10 or fewer units (and reduced tuition). Part-Time Fee Waivers are due at NOON, according to the UCR academic calendar 2023-2024.
17. The last day to add a course without the dean’s approval (no fee) is October 20, 2023. Enrollment Adjustment Forms are due at NOON.
18. The last day to withdraw from a course (no fee) is October 20, 2023. It is also the last day to change the grading basis (no fee).
19. Veterans Day holiday is November 10, 2023.
20. The last day to withdraw from a course ($4 Fee) is November 13, 2023. Enrollment Adjustment Forms are due at NOON.
21. UCR Thanksgiving break 2023 is from November 23 to November 24, 2023.
22. The last day to change the grading basis or variable units ($4 fee) is November 27, 2023. Enrollment Adjustment Forms are due at NOON.
23. The last day of classes is December 8, 2023.
24. The last day to withdraw from UCR for the full term is December 8, 2023.
25. Fall 2023 final examinations begin on Saturday, December 9, 2023; and from Monday, December 11, 2023, to Friday, December 15, 2023.
26. The last day to complete work in order to remove an incomplete grade from the prior quarter is December 15, 2023.
27. The last day of the quarter is Friday, December 15, 2023.
28. UCR Winter break 2023 is from Saturday, December 16, 2023, to Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
29. Fall 2023 grades are available on R’Web on January 8, 2024.

UCR academic calendar winter 2023

UCR winter quarter starts on January 4, 2023, and ends on March 24, 2023. Below are other important dates and deadlines on the UCR academic calendar for winter Quarter 2023.

1. The last day to apply for readmission is September 22, 2022.
2. UCR Schedule of Classes for Winter quarter 2023 is online from October 20, 2022.
3. Enrollment appointments are viewable on UCR R’Web on October 25 2022.
4. UCR’s continuing student registration is from October 31 2022 to November 22, 2022.
5. Readmitted and new graduate students’ registration will soon be announced.
6. Transfer students’ registration periods will soon be announced.
7. September 1, 2022 is the last day to mail payment for tuition/fees to allow for processing time.
8. Undergraduate 17 unit maximum load lifted on December 7, 2022. Registration closed between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. – 2nd pass opens at 9:00 a.m.).
9. Makeup enrollment and add/drop period is November 23, 2022 to January 20, 2023
10. December 15, 2022 is fee payment deadline for UNDERGRADUATE students. The last day for undergraduate students to pay outstanding fees without a $100 penalty for late tuition payments. R’Web and Drop Box payments are due at 4 p.m. Enrollment for Financial Aid qualification and disbursement must be completed by 4 p.m according to the UCR academic calendar.
11. The last day for undergraduate students to pay outstanding fees is January 2, 2023. According to the UCR academic calendar, if you do not pay, your classes are dropped.
12. Cashier’s Office payments are due by 3 p.m on January 2, 2023. R’Web and Drop Box payments are due at 4 p.m. on January 2, 2023. Enrollment for Financial Aid qualification and disbursement must be completed by 4 p.m on January 2, 2023.
13. UCR Winter quarter begins on January 4, 2023.
14. The last day for graduate and medical students to pay outstanding fees is January 9, 2023. If you do not pay, you will be assessed a $100 late tuition payment late fee.
15. Cashier’s Office payments are due by 3 p.m on January 9, 2023 according to the UCR academic calendar 2022-2023. R’Web and Drop Box payments are due at 4 p.m. on January 9, 2023. Enrollment for Financial Aid qualification and disbursement must be completed by 4 p.m on January 9, 2023.

17. January 20, 2023 is the last day to add/drop courses in R’Web (no fee) without a “W” appearing on your transcript. January 20, 2023 is also the last day for undergraduates to get dean approval to enroll in 10 or fewer units (and reduced tuition).
18. January 27, 2023 is the last day to withdraw from a course (no fee), the last day to change grading basis (no fee), and the last day to add a course without dean approval (no fee). 
19. The last day to withdraw from a course ($4 Fee) is February 17, 2023.
20. March 3, 2023 is the last day to change grading basis or variable units ($4 fee). 
21. The last day of classes for Winter 2023 is March 17, 2023.
22. March 17, 2023 is the last day to withdraw from UCR for the full term according to the UCR academic calendar 2023.
23. Final examination period begins on March 18, 2023 and from March 20 2023 to March 24, 2023.
24. The last day to complete work in order to remove an incomplete grade from the prior quarter is March 24, 2023.
25. Winter quarter 2023 ends on March 24, 2023.
26. Academic Break/Halls close on March 25, 2023.
27. Final grades will be available via R’Web on April 3, 2023.

UCR Spring quarter classes starts on April 1, 2024, and end on June 14, 2024. Below are other important dates and deadlines on the UCR academic calendar for Spring Quarter 2024.

1. The last day to apply for readmission is January 8, 2024.
2. UCR Schedule of Classes is online from February 1, 2024.
3. On February 6, 2024, enrollment appointments are viewable on UCR R’Web.
4. UCR’s continuing students registration is from February 12, to March 6, 2024.
5. March 1, 2024 is the last day to mail payment for tuition/fees to allow for processing time.
6. Undergraduate 17 unit maximum load lifted on March 7, 2024 (registration closed between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. – 2nd pass opens at 9:00 a.m.).
7. Makeup enrollment and add/drop period is March 7, 2024, to April 12, 2024.
8. March 25, 2024 is the last day for undergraduate students to pay outstanding fees without a $100 penalty for late tuition payments.
9. The last day for undergraduate students to pay outstanding fees is March 25, 2024. If you do not pay, your classes are dropped.
10. UCR Spring Break 2024 is from March 25, 2024, to March 29, 2024.
11. UCR Spring 2024 classes start on April 1, 2024.
12. The last day for graduate and medical students to pay outstanding fees is April 1, 2024. According to the UCR academic calendar, if you do not pay, you will be assessed a $100 late tuition payment late fee.
13. April 12, 2024 is the last day to add/drop courses in R’Web (no fee) without a “W” appearing on your transcript. April 12 is also the last day for undergraduates to get dean approval to enroll in 10 or fewer units (and reduced tuition).
14. April 19, 2024 is the last day to withdraw from a course (no fee), the last day to change grading basis (no fee), and the last day to add a course without dean approval (no fee). 
15. Last day to withdraw from a course ($4 Fee) is May 10, 2024. 
16. May 27, 2024, is Memorial Day Holiday on the UCR academic calendar.
17. The last day of instruction for Spring 2024 is June 7, 2024. It is also the last day to withdraw from UCR for the spring 2024 full term.
18. Final examination period is June 8, 2024, to June 14, 2024.
19. Spring quarter 2024 ends on June 14, 2024.
20. Commencement is on June 14, 2024 to June 17, 2024.
21. On June 3, 2022, grades are available on R’Web.
