UNF Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates

The UNF Academic Calendar 2023-2024 provides vital academic information such as class start and end dates, registration periods when grades will be posted, and commencement times and locations as well as various other important dates, and deadlines.

The University of North Florida operates a semester system consisting of Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. UNF semesters are 16 weeks long.

During the Fall & Spring semesters, parts of term are 8 weeks of instruction, designated as 1H (1st Half) and 2H (2nd Half). During the Summer semester, part of term is 6 weeks of instruction, designated as Summer A and B.

1. Transient Student Registration for Fall will commence on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
2. On Friday, August 18, 2023, Learning for Lifetime and State Employee Registration will Begin for Fall.
3. Add/Drop week for full-term and 1H classes will start on Monday, August 21, 2023.
4. UNF Fall 2023 classes start on Monday, August 21, 2023. The Fall Term, including full-term and 1H classes, will Commence.
5. Late Registration ($100 fee) for Fall will begin on Monday, August 21, 2023.
6. The major Change Deadline for Fall is Monday, August 21, 2023.
7. On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Add/Drop and Late Registration ($100 fee) for full-term and 1H classes will be available, according to UNF academic calendar 2023-2024.
8. Starting Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Add/Drop and Late Registration ($100 fee) for full-term and 1H classes will continue.
9. The Last day for students to be added to the waitlist for full-term and 1H classes is Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
10. State of Florida Employee Waivers are Due on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
11. Add/Drop and Late Registration ($100 fee) for full-term and 1H classes will be available on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
12. The Add/Drop Week Ends at @11:59pm for full-term and 1H classes on Friday, August 25, 2023.
13. The Deadline to Defer Grad Admission is Friday, August 25, 2023.
14. By Monday, August 28, 2023, by 5 pm, students should pay/pend/defer tuition and fees for full-term, 1H & 2H classes.
15. EEP/TSP Waivers for full-term, 1H & 2H classes are due by 5 pm on Monday, August 28, 2023.
16. On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, the class schedule will be dropped for non-payment for full-term and 1H classes.
17. Degrees will Post to Transcripts by 5 pm for Summer 2023 on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
18. Friday, September 1, 2023, marks the Complete Withdrawal Deadline for a 25% Refund for 1H classes, according to UNF academic calendar 2023-2024.
19. There will be no classes on Monday, September 4, 2023, during Labor Day (UNF Closed).
20. Diplomas for Summer 2023 graduates will be mailed on Friday, September 8, 2023.
21. Friday, September 8, 2023, is the Last day to add late, reinstate, and transfer classes (late fees apply) for full-term and 1H.
22. Friday, September 15, 2023, is the Complete Withdrawal Deadline for a 25% Refund for full-term classes.
23. Official Transcripts are Due from External Institutions for Summer 2023 Graduates on Friday, September 15, 2023.
24. Friday, September 15, 2023, marks the Withdrawal Deadline (1H classes) with no refund.
25. The Graduation Application Deadline for the fall term is Friday, October 6, 2023.
26. UNF Fall Break 2023, during which no classes will occur, is on Monday, October 9, 2023, and Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
27. Mid-term grades for the fall term will be available for student viewing on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
28. The end of 1H Classes will occur on Friday, October 13, 2023, according to UNF academic calendar 2023-2024.
29. Monday, October 16, 2023, will mark the beginning of 2H classes.
30. Add/Drop week for 2H classes will commence on Monday, October 16, 2023.
31. Starting Monday, October 16, 2023, Late Registration ($100 fee) will be available.
32. Add/Drop and Late Registration ($100 fee) for 2H classes will continue on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
33. Beginning Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Add/Drop and Late Registration ($100 fee) for 2H classes will remain available.
34. The option for Add/Drop and Late Registration ($100 fee) for 2H classes will be available on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
35. Final Grades for fall 1H will be Available for Student View on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
36. The Add/Drop Week and Late Registration ($100 fee) for 2H classes will End on Friday, October 20, 2023.
37. Tuition and fees for 2H classes must be paid/pend/deferred by 5 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, according to UNF academic calendar 2023-2024.
38. EEP/TSP Waivers for 2H classes are due by 5 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023.
39. On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the class schedule will be dropped for non-payment for 2H classes.
40. Friday, October 27, 2023, marks the Complete Withdrawal Deadline for a 25% Refund for 2H classes.
41. The Deadline for Late Add, Reinstate, or Transfer Classes (2H) with late fees applying is Friday, November 3, 2023.
42. There will be no refund for withdrawals from full-term and 2H classes after Thursday, November 9, 2023.
43. There will be no classes on Friday, November 10, 2023, in observance of Veterans Day (UNF Closed).
44. Veterans Day Holiday (No Classes) will be observed on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
45. UNF Thanksgiving Break 2023 will begin on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, to Saturday, November 25, 2023 at All Campus Locations.
46. Starting Monday, November 27, 2023, Graduation Applications will be available to Students for the spring term at All Campus Locations.
47. Full-Term Classes End on Friday, December 8, 2023, according to UNF academic calendar 2023-2024.
48. UNF Final Exam Week Begins on Saturday, December 9, 2023, to Friday, December 15, 2023.
49. UNF Fall 2023 Commencement or graduation is on Friday, December 15, 2023.
50. Fall 2023 Term Ends on Friday, December 15, 2023.
51. UNF winter break 2023 is from Saturday, December 16, 2023, to Sunday, January 7, 2024.
