Berea College Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates

Berea College academic calendar 2023-2024 includes examination dates, spring break or reading week, the last day of the semester, and other important dates. 

Berea College operates on a two fifteen-week term academic calendar. This consists of required Fall and Spring terms. But because the College is on a term system, the school does not refer to these sessions as semesters.

Berea College does not award credit in semester hours but as course units. One Berea course credit equals four semester hours or six quarter hours. Students normally enroll in four-course credits in each of the regular terms. 

A Fall or Spring term is considered completed on the last day of regular classes. Summer terms are considered completed one day before the last day of classes. 

Students who withdraw after the last day to withdraw without final grades being recorded, as defined in the Academic Calendar, will be considered enrolled for the entire term. Final grades will be entered for students who withdraw after that date.

9. The Last Day to Change a Labor Position (Eligible Students) is Tuesday, August 29, 2023, according to Berea College Academic Calendar 2023-2024.
10. Labor Day holiday is Monday, September 4, 2023. National Holiday (Classes Cancelled).
11. The Last Day to Withdraw from a Course without a WP/WF Grade Being Recorded is Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

16. Student Applications for BIST are Due on Friday, October 20, 2023.
17. The Last Day to Withdraw from a Course is Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
18. Election Day is Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
19. Labor Status Forms for Thanksgiving Break are Due on Friday, November 10, 2023.
20. Berea College Homecoming 2023 is from Friday, November 17, 2023, to Sunday, November 19, 2023.
21. Berea College Thanksgiving break 2023 is from Wednesday, November 22, 2023, to Sunday, November 26, 2023. Classes resume on Monday, November 27, 2023, after Thanksgiving vacation.
22. Labor Status Forms for Christmas Break are Due on Friday, December 1, 2023.
23. The Last Day to Withdraw from the College without Final Grades Being Recorded is Friday, December 8, 2023.
24. Berea College Fall 2023 Classes End on Friday, December 8, 2023.
25. Recognition Service for Mid-Year Graduates is on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
