Dalhousie important dates winter 2024

Here is Dalhousie important dates and deadlines for winter 2024.

1. Residences, both traditional and non-traditional, will open on January 7, 2024.
2. The winter term classes begin on January 8, 2024.
3. The application deadline for the Exchange/Study Abroad Program is on January 14, 2024.
4. The fees for the winter term are due on January 22, 2024. This is also the last day to add winter term courses, the last day for late registration, the last day to drop winter term courses with no financial implications, and the last day to Opt Out of the UPass.
5. The university will be closed for Munro Day on February 2, 2024. There are no classes.
6. The last day to drop multi-term courses with a “W” and the last day to drop winter term courses without a “W” is February 6, 2024. It is also the last day to change a winter term course from audit to credit (and vice versa).
7. The university will be closed for Nova Scotia Heritage Day on February 19, 2024.
8. Dalhousie Reading Week 2024 is from February 19, 2024, to February 23, 2024. It is a winter study break for all students except those in co-op, clinics, or internships.
9. Registration for the Summer 2024 term will begin at 10 am on February 27, 2024, for all returning students.
10. The 2024/25 Academic Calendar will be available for viewing on March 1, 2024.
11. The Fall/Winter 2024/25 timetable will be available on March 5, 2024. There will also be an Advising Week, the specific dates of which are to be determined.
12. The last day to drop winter term classes with a “W” is March 6, 2024. 
13. Registration opens at 7:30 am on March 19, 2024, for Graduate students, Faculties of Health, Engineering, and Agriculture, for the Fall/Winter 2023/24 terms (returning Dal and transfer students only).
14. Registration opens at 6:00 am, 8:00 am, and 10:00 am on March 20, 2024, for all other undergraduate programs for the Fall/Winter 2024/25 terms (returning Dal and transfer students only).
15. Registration opens at 10:00 am on March 21, 2024, for the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry. It also opens at 10:00 am for Visiting Students.
16. The university will be closed for Good Friday on March 29, 2024. There are no classes, according to the Dalhousie University holiday calendar schedule.
17. Seat reservations will be removed from most fall/winter courses in April 2024 (exact date to be determined).
18. Classes will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, for the entire week.

1. The Summer 2024 term begins on May 6, 2024.
2. Senate awards degrees/diplomas and updates transcripts on May 10, 2024. Ceremony (aka Convocation) dates will be provided later.
3. The university will be closed for Victoria Day on May 20, 2024.
4. Spring Convocation Celebrations will take place from May 21 to May 31, 2024.
5. Registration opens at 10 a.m. ADT in June (exact date to be determined) for the second year and transfer Law, 2024.
6. Fall 2024/Winter 2025 term registration opens at 12 p.m. ADT on June 8, 2024 for first-year students, according to Dalhousie Important Dates 2024-2025.
