OU Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates

The OU academic calendar 2023-2024 has registration dates, semester schedules, add/drop dates, other important dates, and deadlines. The University of Oklahoma operates a semester system made of Fall, Spring, and Summer.

1. Fall 2023 Advance Registration will occur from April 3 to 28, 2023.
2. The final day to file a Graduation Application is May 1, 2023.
3. The final day to submit the Master’s Degree Program of Study to the Graduate College is April 3, 2023.
4. The final day to submit the Master Theses Topic and Committee Membership form to the Graduate College is April 3, 2023.
5. Continuing Registration and Add/Drop period is from May 1 to August 20, 2023.
6. The last day to register before classes begin is August 20, 2023.
7. The cancellation deadline (no record of grade on the transcript) is also on August 20, 2023.
8. OU Fall 2023 classes start on August 21, 2023. Classes are scheduled to begin, and it is the first day of classes for the semester.
9. The first day for the late registration fee of $20.00 is August 21, 2023, according to the OU academic calendar 2023-2024.
10. There will be a 100% reduction of charges on complete withdrawals and dropped courses from August 21 to September 1, 2023.
11. No grade record on dropped courses will be maintained from August 21 to September 1, 2023.
12. An automatic grade of W will be assigned on complete withdrawal for Graduate students from August 21 to September 29, 2023.
13. For undergraduate students, a grade of W on complete withdrawal will be assigned from August 21 to December 8, 2023.
14. The final day to register or add a class without the instructor’s permission is August 25, 2023.
15. The final day to apply for the Doctoral General Examination is September 1, 2023.
16. The final day to submit a request for Degree Check (Thesis/Doctoral students only) is September 1, 2023.
17. After September 1, 2023, no charges will be reduced on dropped courses.
18. Undergraduate students have until September 1, 2023, to change from audit to credit and vice versa, According to OU academic calendar 2023-2024.
19. September 4, 2023, is the Labor Day holiday, with no classes scheduled.
20. For Graduate students, an automatic grade of W will be assigned for dropped courses from September 5 to 29, 2023.
21. Undergraduate students will receive an automatic grade of W for dropped courses from September 5 to November 10, 2023.
22. Fall 2023 Midterm Grades will be assigned from October 2 to 17, 2023.
23. The final day to submit the Graduate Certificate Program Report Form is October 2, 2023.
24. For Graduate students, a grade of W or F for dropped courses will be assigned from October 2 to 27, 2023.
25. The same period, October 2 to December 8, 2023, will see a grade of W or F assigned on complete withdrawals for Graduate students.
26. The final day to change from credit to audit for Graduate students is October 27, 2023.
27. From October 30 to December 8, 2023, Graduate students can petition the Graduate College to drop courses.
28. For Undergraduate students, the period to petition the College Dean to drop courses is from November 13 to December 8, 2023.
29. The final day to submit the Report of Reading Copy Submission and Request for Authority to Defend (Thesis/Dissertation) is November 17, 2023, according to OU academic calendar 2023-2024.
30. OU Thanksgiving Break 2023 is scheduled from November 22 to November 26, 2023.
