AccessNet account

You can access Temple University’s many technology resources, such as TUportal, TUmail, and Canvas, with an AccessNet username and password.

If you are a new student, you will automatically receive a TUmail account after paying your tuition deposit or Graduate Matriculation Fee.

Instructions for activating your account at accounts.temple.edu are e-mailed to the e-mail address you indicated on your application to Temple. Note that you will need your nine-digit TUid to complete the process.

To access your email, log in to TUmail or TUportal with your AccessNet username and password. If you log in to TUportal, click TUmail to access your mail.

Your email address is your-AccessNet-username@temple.edu (for example, tua00000@temple.edu). You also have the option to customize your email address using one or more aliases.

An AccessNet username and password enable you to log in to Temple technology systems and resources. The resources you can access depend on your role at Temple.

For example, the account gives current students, faculty, and staff access to TUportal, the main hub for staying informed and managing your personal information at Temple, and as TUmail, Library Resources, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and the Canvas Learning Management System.

To learn more about roles at Temple, see the Access Roles Definitions document. To see the resources that each role has access to, see the System Access by University Enterprise Role grid.

The Manage Account tab on the ITS home page offers convenient access for activating your AccessNet account, changing your password, updating your security questions, and more.

Your AccessNet password remains effective for 180 days. When it is time to change your password, Information Technology Services will send you an e-mail reminder directing you to accounts.temple.edu, where you can change your password.
