UNCC Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates

Here are the important dates, deadlines and holiday schedules on the UNCC academic calendar 2023-2024. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) is on a semester system and has approximately 16 weeks during fall & spring and 11 weeks during the summer semester.

UNC Charlotte offers courses for the full Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters and varying lengths within each semester. Each term has a specific start and end dates, drop/add periods and refund deadlines.

1. August 9, 2023 is the Payment Due Date/Cancellation for non-payment.
2. UNCC Academic Year 2023-2024 begins on August 14, 2023.
3. UNCC Move-In day 2023 for fall semester is from Wednesday, August 16, 2023 to Saturday, August 19, 2023. UNC Charlott Move-in arrival times will be available at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day of move-in.
4. New Student Convocation is on August 20, 2023.
5. UNCC Fall 2023 classes start on Monday, August 21, 2023. It is UNC Charlotte’s first day of Fall 2023 classes.
6. Saturday classes begin on August 26, 2023.
7. August 28, 2023 is the last day to add or drop a course with no grade @ 11:59 p.m.
8. The second Cancellation for non-payment Payment Information is on August 29, 2023.
9. September 1, 2023 is Census date for Fall Enrollment.
10. Labor Day holiday is September 4, 2023 on the UNCC academic calendar 2023-2024.
11. September 15, 2023 is Early Alert deadline.
12. The deadline to apply for December 2023 Graduation is September 23, 2023.
13. Unsatisfactory web Mid-Term Grading access is available for Fall 2023 on September 29, 2023.
14. October 3, 2023 is Master’s Thesis Proposal Defense deadline for December 2023 Graduation.
15. Unsatisfactory Mid-Term Grades are due by noon for Fall 2023 on October 13, 2023.
16. Unsatisfactory Mid-Term Grade notices are emailed to students for Fall 2023 on October 17, 2023.
17. October 19, 2023 is the last day to change Grade Type (P/NC or Audit).
18. October 19, 2023 is the last day to change or Opt-Out of Grade Replacement @ 11:59 pm.
19. The last day to withdraw from a course(s); grade subject to the Withdrawal Policy is October 19, 2023.
20. UNCC Fall break 2023 is from Monday, October 23, 2023 to Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Classes resume on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
21. Veterans Day holiday is November 10, 2023 on the UNCC academic calendar 2023-2024. There are no classes.
22. The Doctoral Dissertation Defense deadline is November 13, 2023.
23. November 20, 2023 is the last day to submit doctoral dissertations for December 2023 graduation.
24. UNCC Thanksgiving Break 2023 is from November 22, 2023 to November 25, 2023.
25. The last day of classes for Fall 2023 is December 6, 2023.
26. Reading Day is December 7, 2023 according to UNC Charlotte academic calendar.
27. Final Examinations is from December 8, 2023 to December 14, 2023. The final Examination day for Saturday classes is December 9, 2023.
28. The Master’s Thesis Defense Deadline is December 11, 2023.
29. December 14, 2023 is the last day to submit Master’s Thesis for December 2023 graduation.
30. UNCC Commencement/Graduation 2023 for fall 2023 is from December 15, 2023 to December 16, 2023.
31. Fall 2023 final grades are due by noon on December 18, 2023.
32. Fall 2023 Probation/Suspension notifications are sent to students on December 20, 2023.
33. UNCC Winter Break 2023 is from December 22, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

1. Spring 2023 Schedule of Classes available on the web on October 3, 2022.
2. Registration for Spring 2023 begins on October 31, 2022.
3. UNC Charlotte New Residents Check-In is on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 9 a.m.
4. Martin Luther King Day holiday is Monday, January 16, 2023. All residential areas remain open, but offices are closed.
5. Spring Health and Safety Inspections are from Wednesday, January 25, to Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
6. UNCC Spring Break 2023 is from Monday, February 27 2023 to Friday, March 4, 2023.
7. Refresh Weekend is from Friday, April 7 2023 to Saturday, April 8, 2023.
8. Halls Close on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 12 p.m.
