The UNH Academic Calendar lists key dates for each semester, including breaks, holidays, exam schedules, add/drop dates, other important dates, and deadlines.

The University of New Hampshire utilizes the semester system made of Fall, Spring and Summer. There is also UNH J-term (January Term) that runs for 3 weeks in January. During this time you can earn up to 4 credits toward your degree. You can take courses online or on-campus, or you can opt to study abroad.

To be eligible for graduation from the University of New Hampshire, a student must obtain a passing grade in a minimum of 128 semester hours; for associate degree graduation, 64 semester hours.

  9. Fall 2022 Webcat registration ends on September 9, 2022 at 4:30 PM.
  10. The LAST DAY to add courses or honors designation is September 9, 2022.
  11. September 9, 2022 is the LAST DAY to add Half Term 1 courses, according to UNH academic calendar 2022-2023.
  12. The LAST DAY to choose Pass/Fail grading option for continuing degree students is September 9, 2022.

  51. December 12, 2022 is the LAST DAY to file the completion of minor form for December 2022 graduates.
  52. Durham reading day is December 13, 2022.
  53. UNH Durham – Fall 2022 Final Exams begin at 6:00 pm on December 13, 2022 to December 20, 2022.
  54. UNH winter break 2022 is from December 26, 2022 to January 2, 2023. It is 8 days long.
  55. Faculty grade submission deadline is December 30, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
  56. UNH December Graduation date – no ceremony is December 31, 2022.

UNH academic calendar J-Term 2023

UNH J-term (January Term) is a program that runs for 3 weeks in January. During this time you can earn up to 4 credits toward your degree. It is a great opportunity for students wondering what to do during the long winter break. You can take courses online or on-campus, or you can opt to study abroad.

The J-term study abroad programs are great for those who want an international experience but don’t have time in their schedules to do a whole semester abroad. There is some awesome UNH-managed study abroad programs during J-term.

  1. January Term 2023 Registration Begins on October 17, 2022.
  2. December 23, 2022 is the Noon registration deadline for students without Webcat accounts registering for any J-term 2023 courses beginning December 28.
  3. January Term trips & online classes begin on December 28, 2022.
  4. January term on-campus classes begin on January 3, 2023.
  5. January 3, 2023 is the LAST DAY to add JTerm classes on Webcat.
  6. The LAST DAY to drop JTerm classes with a refund. Full tuition and fees refunded is January 3, 2023. Refund policies may vary for a study away/abroad course.
  7. January 6, 2023 is the LAST DAY to drop JTerm classes without a petition. No refund is available.
  8. J-Term Mid-Semester is January 9, 2023, according to UNH academic calendar 2022-2023.
  9. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday is January 16, 2023; UNH is closed.
  10. January term classes end on January 20, 2023.
  11. Lunar New Year (Chinese culture) is January 22, 2023.
  12. February 3, 2023 is the JTerm faculty grade submission deadline at Noon.

  12. Spring 2023 registration begins for Continuing Ed/non-degree students on December 14, 2022 at 8 am.
  13. UNH Spring 2023 semester classes start on January 24, 2023.
  14. President’s Day holiday is on February 20, 2023.
  15. Mid-semester is March 10, 2023, according to UNH academic calendar 2022-2023.
  16. UNH Spring break 2023 is from March 13, 2023 to March 19, 2023.
  17. Classes resume on March 20, 2023 after The University of New Hampshire Spring break recess 2023.
