UNT Academic Calendar 2024: Important Dates and Deadlines

The UNT academic calendar has important dates and deadlines including holidays, commencement dates, move-in/move-out dates, add/drop dates, and exam schedules.

The University of North Texas operates on a semester system. The semester system divides the academic year into two equal parts of 14-16 weeks each. The fall semester begins in late August or early September, and the spring semester begins in January. 

UNT academic calendar spring 2024

Here are the important dates and deadlines on the UNT academic calendar calendar for spring 2024.

1. The Schedule of Classes becomes available on myUNT on September 18, 2023.
2. UNT Spring 2024 registration opens on October 2, 2023.
3. Regular registration ends on January 11, 2024.
4. Late registration for students not registered for the term takes place from January 12 to January 19, 2024, incurring a late registration fee of $75.
5. The last day to withdraw from the entire term on myUNT is January 15, 2024. Courses dropped by this date do not appear on the transcript. After this date, students must contact the Dean of Students to withdraw from the entire term.
6. UNT Spring 2024 classes start on January 16, 2024.
7. The last day to add a class section is January 19, 2024.
8. The census, the official enrollment determination, is on January 29, 2024. It is the last day to drop a course section to no longer appear on the official transcript.
9. Drop with a grade of W begins on January 30, 2024. Students can drop a course with a grade of W, and the course will appear on the transcript with a grade of W, with tuition fees remaining.
10. The last day to change to a pass/no pass grade option for undergraduates is February 23, 2024, according to the UNT academic calendar 2024.
11. The midpoint of the semester is on March 8, 2024.
12. UNT Spring Break 2024 is from from March 11 to March 17, 2024.
13. The last day for a student to drop a course or all courses with a grade of W is April 5, 2024.
14. The first day to request a grade of Incomplete is April 6, 2024.
15. Pre-Finals Days are on May 1-2, 2024.
16. The last regular class meeting is on May 2, 2024.
17. Reading Day, with no classes, is on May 3, 2024.
18. Final exams are scheduled from May 4 to 10, 2024.
19. The last day of the session is on May 10, 2024.
20. UNT Graduation 2024 and Commencement activities are from May 10 to 12, 2024.
21. The university grade submission deadline is 4 pm on May 13, 2024.
22. Grades and academic standing are posted on the official transcript on May 15, 2024.
