University of California Irvine, UCI academic calendar 2023-2024 has add/drop dates, quarter schedule, commencement dates, enrolment dates, registration dates, and other important dates and deadlines.

UC Irvine operates on the quarter system and therefore all course credits are listed in quarter units. The quarter system at UCI consists of Fall, Winter, Spring and Winter.

UCI academic calendar fall 2023

Here are the important dates and deadlines on the UCI academic calendar for fall 2023.

1. The schedule of classes for fall 2023 is available on May 6, 2023.
2. The view date and time of enrollment window for continuing students are on May 15, 2023. Check out UCI Webreg.
3. Enrollment by Window for continuing students is from May 22, 2023, to June 7, 2023 (7 a.m. start date–7 p.m. end date).
4. UCI Fall 2023 Open Enrollment for all students is from June 7, 2023, to September 15, 2023, and from September 20, 2023, to October 13, 2023.
5. The last day to enroll in units to have tuition and fees paid by financial or graduate aid without a $50 late payment charge is September 15, 2023, by 5:00 p.m.
6. The fee Payment Deadline is September 15, 2023. It is the last day to Pay tuition and fees without a $50 late payment charge and classes being dropped.
7. Waitlist is released on September 19, 2023, according to UCI academic calendar 2023-2024.
8. UCI Fall Quarter 2023 begins on September 25, 2023.
9. UCI fall 2023 classes start on September 28, 2023. It is the first day of classes for fall 2023.
10. The last day to enroll in units without a $50 late enrollment charge is October 13, 2023, by 5:00 p.m. Waitlists are deactivated by 5:00 p.m. on this day.
11. The last day to add a course without the dean’s approval is October 13, 2023. It is the last day to drop a course without the dean’s approval and the last day to Change the grading option or variable units of a course without the dean’s approval.
12. The last day to Submit a part-time study petition to Graduate Division for graduate students is October 18, 2023.
13. The last day to enroll in units to avoid loss of student status is October 20, 2023, by 5:00 p.m.
14. The last day to Pay tuition and fees to avoid loss of student status is October 20, 2023.
15. The last day to Submit a part-time study petition to the Registrar for undergraduate students is October 20, 2023, by 5:00 p.m.
16. Veteran’s Day is November 10, 2023, according to UCI academic calendar 2023-2024.
17. The last day to Drop a course without receiving a W grade is November 10, 2023, by 5:00 p.m. The Deans’ approval is required. 
18. The last day to Change variable units of a course is November 10, 2023, by 5:00 p.m. The dean’s approval is required.
19. UCI Thanksgiving break 2023 is from November 23, 2023, to November 24, 2023.
20. The last day to Change the grading option of a course is December 8, 2023, by 5:00 p.m. The dean’s approval is required.
21. The last day to Withdraw from a course; the W grade assigned is December 8, 2023, by 5:00 p.m. The dean’s approval is required.
22. The last day to Withdraw from the term is December 8, 2023, by 5:00 p.m. Readmission to the University is required for a future term.
23. UCI fall 2023 classes end on December 8, 2023, according to UCI academic calendar 2023-2024.
24. Fall 2023 final examinations are from December 9, 2023, to December 15, 2023.
25. UCI fall quarter 2023 ends on December 15, 2023.
26. UCI Winter Break 2023 is from December 18, 2023, to January 2, 2024. Winter Administrative Recess (campus offices closed)is from December 25, 2023, to January 2, 2024. 
27. Grades are available in StudentAccess on December 22, 2023, by 10:00 p.m.

UCI academic calendar winter quarter 2024

UCI Winter Quarter 2024 starts from January 3, 2024 to March 22, 2024. Find out the other important dates in the UCI academic calendar for Winter Quarter 2024.

1. The waitlist for classes is released between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on December 19, 2023.
2. The Schedule of Classes for Winter 2024 at UCI becomes available on November 4, 2023.
3. Continuing students can view their enrollment window date and time on November 13, 2023.
4. Enrollment for continuing students, new graduate students, new transfer students, and new freshmen takes place from November 20 to December 8, 2023.
5. Open Enrollment for continuing students, new graduate students, new transfer students, and new freshmen occurs from December 8, 2023 to January 18, 2024.
6. The enrollment limit of 18 units for undergraduate students is lifted at noon on December 20, 2023.
7. The last day to enroll in units to avoid the loss of student status is January 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
8. The Winter Quarter begins on January 3, 2024.
9. UCI Winter 2024 classes start on January 8, 2024.
10. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday is January 15, 2024
11. Waitlists are deactivated on January 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
12. January 19, 2024, is also the last day to add a course, drop a course, or change the grading option or variable units of a course without dean’s approval, all by 5:00 p.m.
13. Graduate students need to submit a part-time study petition to the Graduate Division by January 24, 2024, at 12:00 noon.
14. The deadline to pay tuition and fees late and/or enroll late is January 26, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
15. Undergraduate students must submit a part-time study petition to the Registrar by January 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
16. The last day to drop a course without receiving a W grade is February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., with dean’s approval required.
17. February 16, 2024, is also the deadline to change variable units of a course or the grading option of a course, with dean’s approval required.
18. Presidents’ Day holiday is February 19, 2024. There are no classes.
19. The deadline to withdraw from a course with a W grade and dean’s approval is March 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
20. March 15, 2024, is also the deadline to withdraw from the term, requiring readmission to the University for future terms.
21. Winter Quarter classes end on March 15, 2024.
22. Final examinations are held from March 16 to March 22, 2024.
23. The UCI Winter Quarter ends on March 22, 2024.
24. The deadline to submit final grades is March 28, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., and grades become available in StudentAccess at 10:00 p.m. on the same day.
25. Official transcripts are available on April 1, 2024.
26. The Fee Payment Deadline to pay tuition and fees without classes being dropped is March 15, 2024.
27. The deadline to pay tuition and fees to avoid loss of student status is April 19, 2024.
28. Degrees are posted to transcripts on May 3, 2024.

2. February 19, 2024 is the view date and time of enrollment window for continuing students.
3. Enrollment by window for continuing students, new graduates, new transfer students and new freshmen is from February 26, 2024, to March 13, 2024 (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.).
4. Open enrollment for continuing students, new graduates, new transfer students and new freshmen is from March 13 2024 to March 15, 2024, and also from March 20, 2024 to April 12, 2024 (7 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
5. Spring 2024 Fee Payment Deadline is March 15, 2024.

8. UCI Spring Quarter 2024 begins on March 27, 2024.
9. UCI Spring 2024 classes start on April 1, 2024.
10. Waitlists will be deactivated on April 12, 2024.
11. The last day to add a course, drop a course, or change the grading option without the dean’s approval is April 12, 2024.
12. The last day to submit a part-time study petition to the Graduate Division is April 17, 2024.
13. The deadline to pay tuition and fees late and/or enroll late is April 19, 2024.
14. The last day to submit a part-time study petition to the Registrar for undergraduate students is April 19, 2024.
15. The last day to drop a course without receiving a W grade, change variable units, or change the grading option with the dean’s approval is May 10, 2024.
16. Memorial Day Holiday is May 27, 2024.
17. Spring 2024 classes end on June 7, 2024. It is the last day to;
    • Change the grading option of a course; the dean’s approval is required.
    • Withdraw from a course; W grade assigned; deans’ approval required.
    • Withdraw from the term. Readmission to the University is required for a future term.
18. Final examinations start on June 8, 2024 to June 13, 2024.
19. Spring 2024 Quarter ends on June 14, 2024, according to UCI academic calendar 2024.
20. UCI Graduation 2024 and Commencement ceremonies are from June 14, 2024 to June 17, 2024. Graduate Hooding is on June 15, 2024.
21. June 20, 2024 is the deadline to submit final grades.
22. Grades are available in StudentAccess on June 20, 2024 according to the UCI academic calendar.
23. Official transcripts are available on June 24, 2024.
