FAU academic calendar Fall 2023

FAU Fall Semester 2023 begins on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Below are other important dates on the FAU academic calendar for the Fall semester of 2023.

1. FAU Fall 2023 registration opens on Monday, March 27, 2023.
2. Non-Degree Registration Opens on Monday, August 14, 2023. Check out myFAU login guide.
3. FAU fall 2023 classes start on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
4. The last day to Drop/Add is Friday, August 25, 2023.
5. 60+ Audit registration is on Monday, August 28, 2023.
6. The last day to Pay without Late Fees is Monday, August 28, 2023.
7. Labor Day holiday is Monday, September 4, 2023. There are no classes on this day and Florida Atlantic University is closed.
8. The last day to Withdraw with a 25% Tuition Adjustment is Monday, September 18, 2023.
9. Mid-Term Grades are due on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
10. The last day to Drop with a “W” is Friday, October 27, 2023.
11. Veteran’s Day observed (University closed) is Friday, November 10, 2023.
12. FAU Thanksgiving Break 2023 (No classes; offices open) is from Wednesday, November 22, 2023, to Sunday, November 26, 2023.
13. Fall 2023 classes end on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
14. Reading Days begin on Monday, December 4, 2023, to Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
15. FAU Fall 2023 final exams begin on Thursday, December 7, 2023, to Wednesday, December 13, 2023. 
16. FAU fall 2023 graduation and commencement ceremonies are on Thursday, December 14, 2023, and Friday, December 15, 2023.
17. FAU Winter break 2023 is from Thursday, December 14, 2023 to Friday, January 5, 2024.
18. Final Grades are due at 9 am on Monday, December 18, 2023.

FAU academic calendar spring 2024

Below are other important dates on the FAU academic calendar for the Spring semester of 2024.

1. FAU Registration for the Spring 2024 semester opens on Monday, October 30, 2023.
2. Non-Degree Registration becomes available on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
3. FAU Spring 2024 Classes officially commence on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
4. The last opportunity for dropping or adding courses, either in person by 5 pm [Boca Raton, Davie, and Jupiter campuses] or online by 11:59 pm, is Friday, January 12, 2024; after this date, courses incur fees, and $100 late registration fee is applicable.
5. On Monday, January 15, 2024, the university observes M.L. King Jr. Day, with the campus closed.
6. Tuesday, January 16, 2024, marks the start of 60+ Audit Registration.
7. Payment without incurring late fees must be completed by Tuesday, January 16, 2024; payment methods include the Dropbox by 5 pm [Boca Raton campus], online by 5 pm, or USPS postmarked by this date [this method won’t prevent course cancellation], and a $100 late payment fee is imposed after 5 pm on this date.
8. Friday, January 26, 2024, is the deadline for submitting an Application for Degree.
9. Until Monday, February 5, 2024, students can withdraw with a 25% Tuition Adjustment; withdrawal from all full-term semester courses during the 2nd through 4th weeks (other than for exceptional circumstances) results in a 25% refund, less non-refundable fees.
10. FAU Spring Break 2024 is from Saturday, March 2, 2024 to Friday, March 8, 2024. Florida Atlantic University spring break 2024 is 1 week long.
11. Mid-term grades are due on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
12. The last day to Drop with a “W,” either in person by 5 pm [Boca Raton, Davie, and Jupiter campuses] or online by 11:59 pm, is Friday, March 22, 2024.
13. FAU Spring 2024 classes come to an end on Monday, April 22, 2024.
14. Reading Days begin on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, and end on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
15. FAU Spring 2024 Final Exams start on Thursday, April 25, 2024 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, marking the end of the Semester.
16. FAU graduation 2024 and Commencement activities are scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024, and Friday, May 3, 2024.
17. Spring 2024 Final Grades are due on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 9 am.

FAU academic calendar summer 2024

Below are other important dates and deadlines on the FAU academic calendar for the Summer semester of 2024.

1. The registration for the Summer 2024 semester opens on Monday, March 25, 2024.
2. Non-degree registration opens on Monday, May 6, 2024.
3. The classes begin on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
4. The last day to drop/add (in person by 5 pm [Boca Raton, Davie, and Jupiter campuses], online by 11:59 pm; courses are fee liable after this date; $100 late registration fee after this date) is on Friday, May 17, 2024.
5. 60+ Audit Registration begins on Monday, May 20, 2024.
6. The last day to pay without late fees (payment must be made: Dropbox by 5 pm [Boca Raton campus], online by 5 pm, USPS postmarked by this date [this method will not prevent course cancellation]; $100 late payment fee assessed if paid after 5 pm on this date) is on Monday, May 20, 2024.
7. Memorial Day is observed on Monday, May 27, 2024, and the university is closed.
8. The last day to submit an application for a degree is on Friday, May 31, 2024.
9. The last day to withdraw with a 25% tuition adjustment (students who withdraw from all full-term semester courses during the 2nd through 4th weeks of the semester [other than for exceptional circumstances] will receive a 25% refund, less non-refundable fees) is on Monday, June 10, 2024.
10. Independence Day is observed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, and the university is closed.
11. The last day to drop with a “W” (in person by 5 pm [Boca Raton, Davie, and Jupiter campuses], online by 11:59 pm) is on Friday, July 19, 2024.
12. The classes end on Friday, August 2, 2024.
13. The semester ends on Friday, August 2, 2024.
14. The commencement takes place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
15. The final grades are due at 9 am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
