Georgia State University (GSU) operates on a semester system. The academic year is typically divided into two main terms: fall semester and spring semester. Each semester is approximately 15 weeks long.

These are the important dates and deadlines on the GSU academic calendar for spring 2024.

1. The Schedule of Classes becomes available in GSU PAWS on October 9, 2023.
2. The registration period takes place from October 23, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
3. The deadline for Cross Registration Applications is on November 15, 2023.
4. Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) registration begins on November 20, 2023.
5. Spring 2024 Classes for the full semester at Georgia State University start on January 8, 2024.
6. Student Account Payment is due at 5 p.m. in-person or online on January 8, 2024. Payment is due same-day for courses added during Late Registration.
7. Late registration is allowed from January 8 to January 12, 2024.
8. Registration closes on January 15, 2024.
9. January 15, 2024, is a holiday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and there are no classes.
10. The withdrawal period begins via PAWS at 8 a.m. on January 16, 2024.
11. February 27, 2024, marks the semester midpoint for the full semester.
12. The University Grade Submission Deadline at 5 p.m. via PAWS is also on February 27, 2024.
13. GSU Spring Break 2024 is from March 11 to March 17, 2024.
14. The classes for the full semester end on April 22, 2024.
15. GSU Spring 2024 Final exams for the full semester are scheduled from April 23 to April 30, 2024.
16. May 2, 2024, is the University Grade Submission Deadline at 5 p.m. via PAWS.
17. After 5 p.m. on May 3, 2024, grades become available to students via PAWS.
