Drexel Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates

Drexel University’s programs are based on a quarter system. There are four quarters on the Drexel academic calendar. Each quarter term is 10 weeks long. Once you’ve completed your 10-week quarter, you’ll have a week of exams, followed by a short break in between terms.

The academic year at Drexel is based on four three-month terms, which run approximately as follows:

• Fall term runs from late September to mid-December.
• Winter term runs from early January to the end of March.
• Spring term runs from early April to mid-June.
• Summer term runs from late June to mid-September.

The regular weekly schedule of classes includes Saturday sessions.

1. The last day to apply for Fall Quarter 2023 Readmission is Saturday, July 15, 2023.
2. Drexel Welcome Week and New Undergraduate Orientation is from September 11 to September 17, 2023.
3. Drexel move-in day 2023 is from Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On arrival, students must visit the front desk of their residence hall. A Housing and Residence Life team member will provide a room key and check-in paperwork. Students and families will receive wristbands for building access during move-in. Students can also access their move-in date & time through the “Move-In Information” page on their Drexel Housing Portal. To access the Drexel Housing Portal, log in to DrexelOne and click on Housing and Dining under the Campus and Community tab.
4. Drexel fall 2023 classes (Full Term and Part of Term A) start on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
5. Monday, October 2, 2023, is the last day to secure a Closed Section Override (Full Term and Part of Term A).
6. The last day to Add/Drop a course with Academic Advisor assistance (Full Term and Part of Term A) is Monday, October 2, 2023.
7. Monday, October 2, 2023, is the last day to resolve Financial Holds (Full Term and Part of Term A).
8. The last day to Add/Drop a course via DrexelOne by 11:59 p.m. (Full Term and Part of Term A) is Monday, October 2, 2023.
9. The first day to Withdraw from a course (Full Term, Part of Term A) is Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
10. Indigenous Peoples’ Day (University Holiday) is Monday, October 9, 2023, according to the Drexel holiday calendar 2023.
11. Monday, October 16, 2023, is the last day to Withdraw from a course with Academic Advisor assistance (Part of Term A).
12. The last day to submit an Application for Degree for the Fall Quarter Graduation 2023 is Monday, October 23, 2023.
13. Part of Term A classes ends on Monday, October 30, 2023, according to Drexel academic calendar 2023-2024.
14. Part of Term B classes begins on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
15. Monday, November 6, 2023, is the last day to Add/Drop a Part of the Term B course via DrexelOne by 11:59.
16. The first day to Withdraw from a course (Part of Term B) is Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
17. The last day to Withdraw from a Full Term course with Academic Advisor assistance is Monday, November 13, 2023.
18. Monday, November 20, 2023, is the last day to Withdraw from a Part of the Term B course with Academic Advisor assistance.
19. Drexel Thanksgiving Holiday 2023 is from Wednesday, November 22, 2023 to Friday, November 24, 2023. Administrative Offices are CLOSED on Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023. Classes resume on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 8 a.m according to Drexel Academic Calendar 2023-2024.
20. Fall classes end (Full Term and Part of Term B) on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
21. Fall Term 2023 Examinations begin (Full Term) on Monday, December 11, 2023, to Saturday, December 16, 2023.
22. Drexel winter break 2023 is from Monday, December 17 2023 to Sunday, January 7, 2024. The University’s residence halls and fraternity/sorority houses will remain open during winter break.

Drexel Spring break 2023 is from Sunday, March 26 2023 to Sunday, April 2 2023. Note: Drexel University has no official Spring break listed on its academic calendar. However, the period between the last day of the Winter quarter and the first day of the Spring quarter is considered Drexel University Spring break.
