DePaul University’s academic calendar is based on the quarter system. The regular academic year consists of three 10-week quarters: fall, winter, and spring. The summer quarter is one academic term, but classes vary in length – some are 10 weeks, while others are only 5 weeks.

2. Fall Semester Move-In for First Year Law Students is Sunday, August 13, 2023.
3. Fall Semester Move-In for Continuing Law Students is Sunday, August 20, 2023.
4. DePaul move-in-day 2023 is Saturday, September 2, 2023. When you are prompted via email to schedule a move-in appointment, you may choose Sunday, August 27, or Saturday, September 2 as your move-in date. Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4 (Labor Day) the university is officially closed and, therefore, no move-in appointments will be available.
5. Immersion Week of Discover Chicago Program begins on Monday, August 28, 2023.
6. Thursday, August 31, 2023 is Annual Academic Convocation.
7. Friday, September 1, 2023 is the end of Immersion Week of Discover Chicago Program.
8. Fall Quarter 2023 Tuition is Due on Friday, September 1, 2023.
9. Monday, September 4, 2023 is Labor Day Holiday.
10. New Student Convocation is Tuesday, September 5, 2023 on the DePaul academic calendar 2023-2024.
11. DePaul Fall 2023 classes start on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. It is the first day of classes for fall 2023 and also DePaul fall start date.
12. The deadline to add classes to Fall 2023 schedule is Tuesday, September 12, 2023 by 11:59 PM.
13. Tuesday, September 19, 2023 is the last day to drop Fall 2023 classes with no penalty (100% refund of tuition if applicable and no grade on transcript) according to the DePaul academic calendar 2023-2024.
14. Grades of “W” assigned for AQ2023 classes dropped on or after Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
15. The last day to select pass/fail option for Fall 2023 classes is Thursday, September 21, 2023.
16. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 is the last day to select auditor status for Fall 2023 classes.
