FIU Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) used by Florida International University to provide instructional support and deliver courses online.
Canvas FIU features or tools may vary by instructor and course. Access will be available on the first day of class for the semester you are registered for.

How to log into fiu canvas
To log into Florida International University canvas;
- Navigate to canvas.fiu.edu
- Click on the yellow “CANVAS LOGIN” button
- On the canvas login page, enter your FIU username
- Next, enter your password
- Now, click on the “Login” button
- You’re in. You can now access your courses.
To login into Canvas FIU, you can use your Panther ID or your FIU Username once it has been set up.

If you have never logged in to any FIU services you would need to configure your FIU account.
FIU Canvas login now supports 2-Factor Authentication (2FA). If you are already signed up for 2FA, you will be required to authenticate with 2FA when logging in to Canvas.
Your username on the login screen is your FIU Username (Example: jdoe001) or your Panther ID.
Your password is your FIU Password.
Where can I find my courses?
To view your courses, click the Courses link on the Global Navigation Menu (far left of your screen).
A menu will expand and display the current courses in which are enrolled at the time. This menu also displays any courses marked as favorites.
If no courses are selected as favorites, the course list will display all your current courses. If a course includes term dates, the name of the term will appear as part of the course listing.
To view a course, click the name of the course. Visit the Dashboard page or Course Navigation for more information.
How do I get my courses to show up in the Courses menu or on the Dashboard?
Click “All Courses” under Courses then “star” the courses you want to be displayed on the menu and on your dashboard.
Why can’t I access my course on the FIU canvas dashboard?
There could be a few reasons why you cannot access a course in which you are enrolled. Explore the following possibilities for troubleshooting.
Check if your course is listed in Courses > All Courses. If your course is not listed in All Courses, contact FIU Canvas Help.
If your course doesn’t appear in your Dashboard, you should ensure your course is marked as favorite in All Courses.
FIU Financial aid: There may be a concern with your financial aid package. That means there may be a hold on your account disabling you from accessing your course.
Attendance: Attendance matters can impact course access, so make sure to contact your professor if you are running into attendance problems.
The semester ended: Once the semester is over you may no longer have access to specific courses. If you need access to specific files, you can access them through your files in Canvas. If you need access to other information reach out to the FIU Canvas Help team.
